2014 Honda Forza Storage

The Forza has storage under the seat and two compartments in the dash.  This post will try to give you an idea of the trunk capacity and any limitations you might encounter.

You can fit two FULL-SIZED helmets in the trunk, positioned like this:Helmet StorageForza Helmet Storage

Some notes of interest:

Forza trunk center
In the photo above, be aware that you cannot put much in the center of the trunk.  The middle of the seat will hit that area and prevent the trunk from closing.

Battery Tender Cable
The front end of the trunk has a cable to connect your battery tender.

power outlet
The front compartment has a power outlet you can use to charge your phone, connect your GPS, etc.

When you first look at the trunk, it looks very big, but in reality, it is two separate trunks (front and rear).  You can’t put anything long in it without the seat hitting it and preventing it from closing.  By contrast, the trunk on my Honda Elite 110 can hold an entire case of water without any problems.

You can’t put that case of water into the Forza trunk.   It won’t close.

  1. From your detailed coverage of the Forza’s storage capacity, I can clearly see that storage is a major shortcoming. Using this scoot for shopping will require at the least a topbox.

    • I actually use my smaller Elite 110 when I need to get groceries or haul tools, etc. I plan to get a topcase from Givi, which should be available in about six weeks. I didn’t like the one offered by Honda because it does not have a passenger backrest. You can get a backrest and built-in lights (tail light/brake lights) for additional visibility and safety on the Givi topcases. You can also remove and attach them on the go whenever you want it on or off the scooter. I’ll provide more details and a review after I get it.

      • Ha! I have the same two bikes — Forza and Elite 110 — and you’re certainly right about the storage issues. Roman, Can I ask what Givi trunk you settled on, and did you have to buy the Honda bracket to install it? Also, is there a half (bikini) cover that fits, once the trunk is installed? Great review.

      • Hi Greg. I have not yet settled on a Givi trunk. I don’t think they have one yet for this model. I have been checking their site regularly, but have not yet seen anything. I am assuming the bracket and cover will be made available by Givi as well.

  2. Thanks for all the info on Forza storage dimensions; very helpful. I was able to get the 28″ barrels of my clay target shotgun in along with the receiver, stock and forend.

On another subject; the tall windshield. I had a lot of trouble getting the red plastic piece from around the windshield. Very sore fingers and a busted fingernail. I removed the fairly large black plastic piece from under the “nose” of the Forza which allowed space to get my fingers under the triangular piece. Seemed to be helpful without adding a lot of extra labor.

    • Thanks for your post. I had a tough time getting the red plastic piece off too, the first time. I think that was mostly because I never did it before and was worried about breaking something. Luckily, my dealer is not too far away so I brought it there and had them show me. They suggested putting some grease on the parts that snap back into the bike. That should make it easier to remove next time.

  3. I got the Honda Top case for the Forza. It doesn’t have a back rest per se… that is, it is form fitted, there’s just no pad. I think the trunk itself works fine as a backrest and it holds plenty. I take my Forza grocery shopping. Love my Forza – took it for a trip in the country – got 100mpg on the highway.

I got the full windsheild too – I recomend it highly – I live in Northern VA and for the cooler months the windshield is a huge advantage.

    • Still waiting for the topcase from Givi. It will have the padded backrest and an optional light kit for added visibility. Enjoy your topcase. More room now for other things. Good choice getting the taller windscreen.

  4. I need to to remove the seat from my 300 forza to have it narrowed down as its width means I can only touch the ground on my toes.Does anybody know how to disconnect the cylinder stay on the side of the hinge ?Or does one remove the 2 bolts which are sunk into the base of the seat instead.I wasn’t sure if there were nuts which would drop off between the base & the covering ???

    • Hi Brian. I personally don’t know, but try calling Honda at (866) 784-1870. Their support department is pretty good at answering these types of questions on the phone.

  5. Hello, I find this Blog site to be very interesting as I’m thinking about getting a Forza300 soon.
My dealer has a 300E model and I’m more interested in the 300AE model with ABS. The price difference is only a few dollars. Besides the advantage of ABS, should this option be the deciding factor when purchasing the Forza? Any pro or con advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    • Hi David. I bought the model without the ABS and am very happy with it. I don’t ride in rain or when rain is expected, so ABS was not a factor for me. I’ll see if I could find some comments from people who bought that version. Great scooter. Good luck if you decide to buy.

      • Thank You, for the info. Did some research on Forza model numbers and it appears that model number ending with “A” denotes ABS.

  6. Thank You Roman. The Forza comes with Honda’s CBS which I believe stands for Calibrated Breaking System. Please correct me on this if I’m mistaken. I realize there is difference between ABS and CBS. Will contact the dealer and or any post will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks Again

  7. I notice my Forza seat is prone to closing when it’s open for loading items, unless I’m on a very flat surface. Is that your experience, or do I perhaps have a weak “lift rod?”

    • I have had the problem with the seat closing. It seems to work in warm weather, but never in cold weather. It closes on it own. I took it to the dealer, and they replaced the shock under warranty a while back, and the problem persists. I was thinking about trying a different gas strut from an auto parts store. I think Honda should recall this, as I have had my skin broken a couple of times from the thing closing on my hand unexpectedly.

  8. Would like to see a pic that shows how to hang a helmet on the Forza. I reviewed the manual several times and looked all over the seat area and cannot find the slot to do so. So, a pic would help. Thanks.

  10. Installed my GIVI top box this evening …. remarkably easy to do, if you have access to a couple of metric tools. I used the V46 case, but of course, the same mount as referenced in Romans post. Took about 20 minutes!

    • Which one did you get? I ended up paying extra for the remote entry clicker. Wasn’t sure if I would have a need for it, but love not having to use a key when my hands are full. The extra storage makes riding more practical for me.

  11. The V46 case is similar to yours, Roman and I am not sure why I didn’t get one like yours. Next up is the brake light kit and a modulater to flash the lights when when I apply the brakes. I have read of people having problems with the remote entry, so I never really considered it.

    • So far no issues with my remote. The brake light kit makes you more visible and safer. I’d be interested in the modulator. As a habit, I have been pumping my brakes to make the lights turn on and off before I come to a complete stop. I even do it when I’m stopped at a light and see cars approaching from behind in my mirror. It would be nice to have the modulator do that.

  12. I got my Forza earlier this week. I see in one of the pics you have a Battery Tender cable. Did your dealer add that for you?

      • I don’t recall seeing one, but perhaps it is there. I have a Battery Tender Jr that I’d like to hook-up to it when I am not riding during the winter months.

      • Mine didn’t come with the battery tender cable either. I bought the cable and installed it myself.

      • After thinking about it, I have a feeling mine didn’t come with it either. I think I put mine in last September and just forgot.

  13. Hi Roman, I am confused on how to start a post on this webpage. Will/did you use a batter tender to store your Forza for the winter? Do you think it is necessary?

      • I have the same problem with my 2013 300 forza.2 new struts, 3rd time packing washers added,4th time after patience running out I asked to be present during the 4th attempt after 20 months. They fitted a new seat from the showroom scoot & bingo it stayed up every time but mine didn’t so as it looked identical to mine I suggested they weigh both ,the result was that mine WAS 2 kg HEAVIER!!!!!!! Honda have agreed now to fit a new seat ,they must be manufacturing the later ones with a less dense foam which is much lighter .I,ll be able now to throw away the prop stick. Hope that information helps
